Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines

I just watched Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines this afternoon and I think this is the first movie in this blog that actually is kinda disappointing. As the title says, it's the 5th installment in the Wrong Turn film series and the 2nd prequel of the first Wrong Turn film. The story happens where Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings left off.

Plot: (from www.movieweb.com)
The cutting-edge terror continues when a small mining town hosts the legendary Mountain Man Festival on Halloween, where crowds of costumed partygoers gather for a wild night of music and mischief. But a killer celebration soon gives way to a blood-soaked feeding frenzy when an inbred family of hillbilly cannibals trick and treat themselves to a group of visiting college students who are just dying for a good time...

First off, if you read my blog post about The Cabin in the Woods, you probably know that I have some issues concerning about horror films nowadays and one of them is about including porn/torture porn/nudity. I mean, is it really necessary? Is it really all about sex that even in horror films they are included? WTF?! Perhaps they can include such scenes if necessary but in some movies, I don't quite to understand  the reason of including such pornographic scenes.

The reason I brought that up is because this film started with a sex scene between Billy and Cruz, two of the 5 teenagers who decided to attend and enjoy the festival. Ugh! I was actually somehow ashamed on watching this film in our TV, out loud, because my relatives were here during the time I was watching it and I was like turning the volume off during that scene and some other sex scenes all over the film. If someone saw it, they would probably think I'm watching PORN. N-O. That's just W-R-O-N-G. :P

As I mentioned earlier, I am a fan of the film series especially when I watched the first Wrong Turn film. For me, it's just gruesomely good and very-well thought and made. The 2nd film is good too. The third ain't that bad but at the fourth film, my gosh, I was bored. I was actually hoping that this fifth film from the series will step up even just a little or at least be reasonably good from the previous but hell I was disappointed as well. This film is very unexpectedly expected. I mean, I didn't expect this film to have scenes that are very expected. I didn't even got startled even once. :/

This film is kind of senseless to the max, well, that is for me.

  • The actors are good looking, no doubt, but their acting in this film is just, what's the word, plain bad, well, not all of them tho. I'm not saying they are bad actors, it's just that their acting didn't fit in the film. The 5 teenagers also didn't look as teenagers.
  • The lines were not carefully thought and written, very forgetful. Not one line has been stuck in my head and worth remembering as catch phrases or taglines.
  • The only location in the movie that I like is the road where the accident happened. Aside from that, dull places  through-out the whole film especially the town or village or wherever they were. It's like they were being hunted and killed by the killers in a big room/maze with corners and turns.
  • The car crash scene, for me, deserves an applause. It's kind of believable and well executed.
  • The killing/torture scenes aren't that gory and yucky. It's very disappointingly unbelievable. One look and we all know it's fake. Not as gory as the first films in the series. Although there are some torture parts that I like; the killings of Julien and Billy in the football field.
  • I like Camilla Arfwedson's acting. Her acting is believable and you may think that she really is a sheriff in real life.
  • The plot is kind of confusing and boringly made and thought of. It's dull. The last scene where the hillbillies caught Lita again, that's where I realized the main reason for the title "Bloodlines", which I think, is the very and only important part of the film. Well, I'm not sure but I think Lita will bear the hillbillies' babies and be their mom and stuff.
  • I was actually expecting to see a festival or a huge gathering in this film because on the DVD cover, there are some people dancing, but when the scene about the festival was shown, damn, only sex scene between one of the festival-goers/whores and a deputy in a police car was shown! I also expected a mass killing in the festival but it disappointingly didn't happen! I got my hopes up.
  • What I hate also in this film is during the black out scenes and I didn't like how dark the scenes are.
There are many negative things I see in this movie but I'll cut it off here. Obviously, I didn't like this movie and it's clear to me now that I only watched it because I'm a huge fan of the film series but the last 2 films made me realize that Wrong Turn is being dragged down in the center of the earth and will likely lose their fans if they continue on making this kind of films.

I'm not saying that you who read this post will not enjoy watching the film as I didn't because we all know that we have different tastes and views.
Again, this is not a review of the film. Everyone's a critic but I don't want to make reviews. I just wanna write what I think about the medias I watched, heard, read, etc and I don't want to consider it as reviews.

If you got my point, thank you. :)

American Horror Story :Asylum (Season 2)

American Horror Story: Asylum

Truth be told, I've been waiting for so many months just to watch the the 2nd season of one of the most anticipated shows, American Horror Story, and just half an hour ago, I've watched the first episode of it,   "Welcome to Briarcliff", and I've got to say, it's one of the darkest TV series that my eyes have laid on.

I am one of the many fans of the show's first season because of its genre, horror. You know how I love horror stuff. But not all that. the first season is full of scares, drama, love and and dark sensual things which people like me dig in and enjoy watching. The actors and actresses were all very good and they portrayed their characters who I truly fell in love with, especially the characters Tate, Violet, and the butt-showing Ben. LOL

That's why this season of the show, some casts returned from the first season and this time, they portray different characters, who, according to the show's producers Ryan Murphy, are very different and actually the exact opposite of their past characters.

This seasons' Haunted Place.

Last season, we were introduced to the haunted California house bought by the Harmon family which gave them a lot of problems. Now we are going to watch the characters suffer in a newly haunted place, the Asylum. The 'Asylum', called Briarcliff, is/was operated by a nun named Sister Jude, back in the 60's, where criminally insane people are admitted and treated like prisoners and being cruelly punished by the head nun if they do something wrong, caning and whipping them bloody. Canes and whips remind me of Christian Grey. Oh sweet fifty.

Here's a kind of confusing recap of the episode:

The 1st episode begins in the present time with a newly-wed couple, taking pictures and do flirty stuff and try to consummate their wedding in 12 haunted places in the world, and guess what? One of them is is Briarcliff. The two, Leo and Teresa, went inside and try to search and do some sexy stuff where they heard banging sounds from the chute. While they "kinkily" investigate the chute, Leo's arm was cut off by an unknown being.

The scene shifted back to 1964 where we see one of the characters, Kit Walker, operating a business. After some scenes with his secretly married wife, a scene showing Kit was being abducted by alien and God, I was feeling his pain just by watching it.

The scene then shifted to the asylum where "Bloody face", who is also Kit, is being transferred. He is called Bloody face after killing  and mutilating several women, including his own wife, skinning them and make it his mask. I've got to say that last season, Evan Peters didn't show off any skin but I was shocked that this time, he finally showed a lot, including his butt. Damn Murphy and Falchuck. Moving on, a reporter named Lana Winters, (who reminds me of Lana del Rey), is thinking that there's something mysterious going on inside the asylum and wants to find out. So the night that Kit was being experimented by Dr. Arden, who uses tortures, killing, and experiments just to discover the darkness that lies inside every human beings, she trespassed in the Asylum but got caught by the vicious head nun and admitted her inside for being a lesbian. The first episode also tells us about the rivalry between the head nun Sister Jude and Dr. Arden, who says that he is the real operator or head of the asylum. Dr. Arden's appearance gives me the creeps and goose bumps.

We then shifted back again to the present time where Leo is losing his blood because of his cut arm and her wife panicking, ran out of the asylum but cannot find the exit. In the end, she ran in the direction where he was found and attacked by the murderer "Bloody Face" with his mask on, leaving us hanging with the mystery if the masked assailant is still Kit.

Some thoughts:

If the first season, we have the Rubber Man as the one killing the people, this time, we are introduced to a new evil character, Bloody Face.

Last season, we were eased by the horror but this time, it's darker. this is probably the darkest show that I have ever watched.

The first episode also introduced us to so many mysteries, leaving us hanging and wanting to watch the next episode just to get some answers we are all craving to know. I've got to say, this is quite a start for a horror show. It's more disgusting, brutal, and sensual than the first, and I'm loving it now. Let's see and wait what'll happen to the next episodes. :D

I actually thought at first that Adam Levine and Jena Dewan-Tatum were one of the leading or main cast this season but after seeing them in the first scene, 2 words just got into my mind: Recurring Casts, and I'm right.

Evan Peters also showed his butt in this episode which all the girls were waiting for last season, especially after Dylan Mcdermott showed his, but disappointingly he kept it inside his pants. But wait no more. *DROOLING*. And I am waiting for the character of Zachary Quinto to come out and do his work! Jessica Lange is obviously flawless in her acting. She is just gracefully and horribly good especially at acting being vicious! This also marks the TV Acting debut of Maroon 5's front man "Adam Levine." He is also currently in The Voice as a judge/mentor.

What can I say? Old or young, these cast are so thoughtfully ensemble. They are all hot and sexayyyy.

I am officially saying that we are routing on the diverse road unlike in the first season's key, Simplicity.

State of Grace by Taylor Swift

(c) Big Machine Records
We fall in love 'til it hurts or bleeds or fades in time.

HA! I'm so excited for this one. The first song in the track list from Tay-tay's album, Red, has just been released and I've got to say that this 4th promotional single/5th song released from the album is just creatively and musically heartwarming.

The title itself is very fitted for the song, very gracefully composed, written, and sang. What can I say? Taylor really is the one. When it comes to song-writing, especially about love, she's the ruler.

According to Taylor, the song is :
“about when you first fall in love with someone, the possibilities and, you know, kind of thinking about the different ways that it could go. It’s a really big sound, to me, this sounds like the feeling of falling in love in an epic way.”
I like many parts from the song including the "oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-whoa harmonies during the second part of the chorus" which is currently stuck in my head as I was writing this post. Lyrics are also epically well written. "We fall in love 'til it hurts or bleeds or fades in time" "Love is a ruthless game unless you play it good and right." "You're my Achilles heel". Oh my Glob, very touchy and soul-moving.

Lyrically, she explained it using catchy metaphors, just like Red, which make us realize the she really is right about those kind of stuffs. The song contains of poppy upbeat drums and guitar tunes. What I like more about this song is that even though it's kind of rock-ish and contains uptempo beats and all that rocker stuff,  I still can feel the emotions that Taylor wants us to feel and hear. It's like I'm in a very windy and grassy place above the cliff, just twirling and feeling the winds through me. Another scene is just like I'm walking in a beach, thinking and fantasizing about the love I just found while touching the salty water using my feet. The feelings I feel while  listening to John Mayer's Heartbreak Warfare and Taylor's Eyes Open. It's just the right song for being in love, explaining every possibilities that may happen, negatively or positively.

The tune also reminds me of the songs way back from the 80's and I've got to say I'm loving the feelings it's giving me. Come on, pour down on me! This is probably one of the best songs from the album and I so can't wait to hear all the remaining songs, especially now that she already released 5 of them and there are no any others that will be promotionally released.

I know Taylor is pacing on a very rocky and pop-ish pace, only leaving a bit of country styles in her tunes and songs, but for me, she nailed it and she leaves the people wanting more from her. This girl is so damn good and you all know that I'm right.

I know this is early to say because I haven't heard all the songs from her album, Red, which will be out on October 22, 2012, yet, but by hearing 5 of the songs from it, only Begin Again sounds very similar from her previous album. Probably because Speak Now contains songs with very playful lyrics and musics which mainly consist of country styles while Red signifies a changed and mature Taylor, upbeat and pop songs, and  has lesser country styles. I love Speak Now very much but let's see what is better though I've gotta say that I'm loving the five songs now especially Red. :D I'm also excited about the codes she's gonna give in the lyrics to give hints who or what the song is all about. I hope she'll do the decoding thing again. :)

Lyrics (from directlyrics.com):

I'm walking fast through the traffic lights
Busy streets and busy lives
And all we know is touch and go
We are alone with our changing minds
We fall in love 'til it hurts or bleeds or fades in time

And I never saw you coming
And I'll never be the same

You come around and the armor falls
Pierce the room like a cannon ball
Now all we know is don't let go
We are in love just you and me
Up in your room and our slates are clean
Just twin fire signs, four blue eyes
So you were never a saint and I love that the shades are wrong
We learn to live with the pain mostly our broken hearts
But this love is brave and wild

And I never saw you coming
And I'll never be the same
This is a state of grace
This is the worthwhile fight
Love is a ruthless game
Unless you play it good and right
These are the hands of faith
You're my Achilles heel
This is the golden age of something good and right and real

And I never saw you coming
And I'll never be the same
And I never saw you coming
And I'll never be the same
This is a state of grace
This is the worthwhile fight
Love is a ruthless game
Unless you play it good and right

Kaiji: The Ultimate Gambler (2009 Japanese Film)

If you think that having debts from loan sharks is the worst case scenario, well think again.

So my week started with a cloggy nose but at least, thanks to God, I'm not sick. So instead of lying down, I busied my lonely afternoon watching another Japanese film.

I've got to say, Japanese never ran out of amazing ideas when it comes to films and entertainment. Whatever genre it is, they keep on entertaining us when they put it to films and I'm very glad that I came across with this film, Kaiji: The Ultimate Gambler.

Plot: (from asianwiki.com)
Kaiji Ito moves to Japan after graduating from high school. Unable to find a job and frustrated with society at large, Kaiji spends his days gambling, vandalizing cars, and drinking booze. Two years later and his life no better, a debt collector named Endo arrives to collect money. The debt collector then offers two choices to Kaiji: spend 10 year paying off your loan or board a gambling boat for one night to repay your debt & possibly make a whole lot more. Meanwhile, the unscrupulous Endo is actually conning Kaiji, believing he won't come back from voyage. Kaiji is then up for the night of his life.

Ok. So this film is another thriller, slash, death game theme starring Tatsuya Fujiwara as the main character Kaiji, and Kenichi Matsuyama as his co-worker. They already co-starred in Death Note and they both acted well. So, technically, it's because of them why I watched this film. But mostly because of Tatsu-kun. :D

Of course, Tatsu-kun's acting is over the top, as always. He's so great in acting as a stupidly naive kind of person, being looked down by all the superior characters in the film who were being so full of themselves.

If you are a mainstay in my blog, you probably know or at least, have read already that I love Asian films with themes like death games, battle royale, horror, and thriller. To summarize this film up, it's like Battle Royale + Liar Game + Death Note were all cooked together, spiced them all up, and this movie came up as the result, which is a very deliciously cooked concoction.

This movie has these characters that are also present in the tv series like Liar Game where they are being happy or even aroused when they see other people struggling with fear, being left with many debts, and ended up being dead. Wow. They are being happy with those kinds of stuff? WEIRD. Wasting money to see people crawling on their knees. My favorite part in this kind of genres is when the underdogs are rising up to defeat the people who look down at them. Such a great feeling and I want you all to know that I experienced that same feeling while watching this film, just like what I feel when I watched Liar Game, Battle Royale, and some other films and tv shows.

I'm giving this film 2 thumbs up and I think the only part that I didn't actually like is when the coin fell in the sewer. It's very unrealistic. Well, I'm not actually sure if this film is realistic as well so in that case, that part was very unrealistically unrealistic. It's fiction, anyways, and based on a manga, Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji.

Beauty and a Beat by Justin Bieber ft. Nicki Minaj

(c) Island Records
"We gonna party like it's 3012 tonight"

The third official single from recent Bieber's album, Believe, has just been released as well as its accompanying cool music video ft. Nicki Minaj and her rap-ish words (lol). Honestly, I'm not a huge Belieber. I'm not that hardcore as a fan but I'm not saying that he's not good. I actually like him in the past when his voice was kinda girlish especially in his songs Baby and Never Let You Go but ever since his voice matured, I think it started with Never Say Never (?), I felt like I'm losing his music. Oh, well, Puberty.

So, the song is actually good and I like it more than his previous song, As Long As You Love Me. I actually like Tiffany Alvord's version than him. No offense meant. I feel heavenly when I hear him sing the song's chorus, that falsetto when he sings "cause alllllllllllllllllllll I need". I actually like his falsetto there. Know what I'm talking about? It's like his voice in that part doesn't need to be forced out just to sound good. Naturally executed, sang, released.

The song is an electropop and upbeat dance and stuff song that, in my opinion, is likely enjoyable to dance to. It's a kind of song that every club must have so people may enjoy dancing in the floor, wagging their tails and butts off. The song is about Bieber wanting to take his love interest, who we all know is Selena Gomez, to a club where they can party like it's 3012.

The music video is good, as I said earlier. It started with sentences saying in October 2012, a personal footage of Bieber was stolen and an unknown blogger uploaded the personal videos but as the video progresses, we then are introduced to a new Justin Bieber video. The video shows Bieber in a party happening in a pool. Bieber is then "like" holding the camera while singing, showing everyone around the party while dancing and performing in his song". The scenes shifted from above and under the pool then above again then they dance again. Then Onika showed up singing her verses in the song which I heard she wrote herself.

Overall, the song and the music video are both epic.

Lyrics: (from directlyrics.com)

Yeah..
Young Money..
Nicki Minaj
Justin..

Show you off
Tonight I wanna show you off (aye, aye, aye)
What you got
A billion could've never bought (aye,aye,aye)

We gonna party like it's 3012 tonight
I wanna show you all the finer things in life
So just forget about the world, we're young tonight
I'm coming for ya, I'm coming for ya

Cause all..
I need, is a Beauty and a Beat
Who can make my life complete
It's all..
Bout you, when the music makes you move
Baby do it like you do
Cause..

[Beat break]

Body rock,
Girl, I can feel your body rock (aye, aye, aye)
Take a bow, you on the hottest ticket now (aye, aye, aye)

We gonna party like it's 3012 tonight
I wanna show you all the finer things in life
So just forget about the world, we're young tonight
I'm coming for ya, I'm coming for ya

Cause all..
I need, is a Beauty and a Beat
Who can make my life complete
It's all..
Bout you, when the music makes you move
Baby do it like you do

[Nicki Minaj]
Uh, Uh
In time, ink lines, b-bitches couldn't get on my incline
World tour, it's mine, ten little letters, on a big sign
Justin.. Bieber, you know Imma hit 'em with the ether
Buns out, weiner, but I gotta keep an eye out for Selena
Beauty, Beauty and the Beast
Beauty from the east, beautiful confessions of the priest
Beast, beauty from the streets, we don't get deceased
Every time a beauty on the beats
(Body rock, girl, I wanna feel your body rock)
(Yeah, Yeah, yeah, Let's go, Let's go!)

Cause all..
I need, is a Beauty and a Beat
Who can make my life complete
It's all..
Bout you, when the music makes you move
Baby do it like you do
Cause...

Best Friend's Brother by Victoria Justice

Victorious is one of the few teen shows that make me laugh so hard. Really. This show is one hell of a comically hilarious show. It actually is one of my favorite shows to date. I love the characters so much I even want one of them to be my best friend. It's Daniella Monet. She is casting as Trina Vega, the older sister of the main character, Tori played by Victoria Justice, who I love since Zoey 101. I dreamed about Daniella and I were best friends and when I woke up I was like, "Omg I want her to be my best friend for no certain reason aside from my dream". I was very torn apart inside when I read about Victorious being cancelled. I mean, what the hell? The ratings is good, the fan bases are awesome. The show is hilariously very good as well. So whaddup?

Well I'm not here to talk about the show. I'm here to say something about one of the show's songs, Best Friend's Boyfriend. I fell in love with the song the first time I heard it during the episode "Prom Wrecker". The episode was also hilarious, it is one of my fave episodes of the show. I love how Tori and Jade fight in that episode.

The song was performed by Tori, Andrei and Cat. It is such an awesome song to dance with.

About the song:

The song is about a girl who falls in love with her best friend's brother who, Victoria says in the song is a punk rock drummer and a 6 ft 3. The girl in the song always does what she can just to be near her " best bud's brother", just to see and talk to him without her friend noticing anything mysterious between the two of them.

According to Victoria: (source: en.wikipedia.com)
When I was around 14 years old, in 8th grade, I had this crush on my best friend’s brother. He was two years older than me. It was one of those things where I would go over her house and we would all play Halo 2 together and go swimming in the pool and stuff. I think we both had little crushes on each other, but it never went anywhere. If it had, it would have been really weird. I wouldn't have been willing to risk my friendship for dating her brother. Friendship is always more important.

This song is one of the bomb. The "songs in the show" is actually one of the reasons why I love watching the show, aside from making me a very mentally retarded person because of its comical scripts and perfectly executed acting.

I know a lot of people can relate to this song especially if our best friend or even classmates have perfectly handsome/beautiful brother/sister like god/godesses then you just want to talk about them all the time but you just keep on resisting the urge to do it because your friend might overlook the crush thing and it may ruin your beautiful friendship. HAHA! You see, confusing, but it's pretty obvious that I can relate. Because I really do. :D

I have the soundtrack of Victorious and Victorious 2.0 and I've gotta say that I'm pretty impressed  with the songs especially Victoria Justice's vocals and as well as the other cast members such as Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies. Ariana is a good comedian too and a very good actress/singer. I love her so much! There are lots of awesome songs from the two albums and I always play it all the time :)

Oh. The song is kind of a year old actually. It was released last year, May 20, 2011, just a day before the episode Prom Wrecker was aired. And that's what I like in a song. No matter how old it is, I c
an still enjoy listening/dancing/singing to it whenever I want. :)

I am actually writing a story loosely based from this song in my new blog http://kwentongawitin.blogspot.com but sadly it's created in Tagalog language. :/ Sorry for the  English readers :(

Best Friend's Brother lyrics
Songwriters: KOTECHA, SAVAN / JUSTICE, VICTORIA / GRIGG, ALLAN

Call you up when I know he's at home,
I jump out of my skin when he picks up the phone
Why can't I tell if he's looking at me?
Should I give him a smile?
Should I get up and leave?
I know it's strange, I don't what I'm thinking
But is it wrong if I see him this weekend
I really hope I can get him alone
I just don't, don't want her to know

[Chorus]
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
My best friend's brother is the one for me
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
A punk rock drummer and he's 6 foot 3
I don't want to, but I want to,
Cause I just can't get him out of mind and
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
My best friend's brother is the one for me
BFB, BFB
My best friend's brother, my best friend's brother

I kinda think that I might be his type
Because if you're not around, he's not actin' too shy
Sometimes I feel like he might make a move
Is this all in my head?
I don't know what to do
I know it's strange, I don't know what he's thinking
But is it wrong if I see him this weekend
I really hope I can get him alone
I just don't, don't want her to know

[Chorus]
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
My best friend's brother is the one for me
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
A punk rock drummer and he's 6 foot 3
I don't want to, but I want to,
Cause I just can't get him out of mind and
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
My best friend's brother is the one for me
BFB, BFB
My best friend's brother, my best friend's brother
BFB, BFB
My best friend's brother, my best friend's brother

Cause he's such a dream
Yeah
And you know what I mean
If you weren't related

[Chorus]
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
My best friend's brother is the one for me
Yeah Yeah Yeeeeaaah
A punk rock drummer and he's 6 foot 3
I don't want to, but I want to
Cause I just can't get him out of mind and
Yeah yeah Yeeeeaaah
My best friend's brother is the one for me
BFB, BFB
My best friend's brother, my best friend's brother
BFB, BFB
My best friend's brother, my best friend's brother

Battle Royale (2000 Japanese Film)

"Could you kill your best friend? Today, I killed my best friend. Have you ever killed your best friend?"

"Thank you. I'm glad I found true friends."

WATCH THE TRAILER BELOW TO KNOW HOW THE PEOPLE AND QUENTIN TARANTINO DESCRIBE IT.

So I just watched the 2000 Japanese controversial film Battle Royale for the second time and this moment, I've watched the director's cut which is 7-9 minutes longer than the standard version of the film. I actually watched the standard version earlier this year, I think last January, and I got hooked up, moved, and loved it instantly, especially the characters. This is the first media that I have watched with the Battle Royale theme and also the reason why I got addicted to the films, animes, and others with the same theme like the anime Mirai Nikki (Future Diaries), The Hunger Games, and some others.

About the film:
The film took place at the time when Japan is falling apart. Many people were unemployed, its economy is almost dead, and the worst part is the students are boycotting classes and doing abusive and unpleasant stuff like committing crimes, and disobeying adults. This made the government to create a law, Battle Royale Act (BR Act), forcing a chosen class to participate in a deadly game where everyone must kill to survive until only one student is standing and alive.

I don't want to say more anything about the film so I can't spoil the people who'll read this. I don't want you guys to miss this especially when you haven't watched it yet.

What I think about the film:
For me, this film is one of the darkest, most disgusting, grossest, most controversial, hardcore, terrifying, best, most epic, saddest, most dramatic, most thrilling, and of course, one of my most favorite Japanese or Asian films in the history of my eyeballs.
I mean, this film has it all. The plot is very good, the actors are all good also, the script is undoubtedly fantastic and flawless. It's very professionally done and perfectly stirred, thus, created an overwhelmingly beautiful piece of art. The thrill is over the top. The fight and death scenes are creatively shot. I don't know what more to say. Different genres are all mixed up in this movie; thriller, horror, drama, and most of all, comedy on top of all that.

This film is actually a box-office and a critical success. Many people liked it, favored to it, enjoyed watching it, and gave good and positive feed backs than those who hated it. I can't blame them. Just like I always say, we all have different opinions and views in life. Some may see this disturbing, gross, and cruel especially on using teenage actors and for using disturbing and gross scenes, but people like me see it differently, we like it. The Saw film series is way much grosser and more disturbing, and I watched and liked it. HAHAHA.

People also say that Battle Royale copied the 2008 novel and the 2012 film, The Hunger Games. I just want to clear that this film is also based from the novel by Koushun Takami with the same name which was published in 1999, which is 9 years earlier than the publication of the novel The Hunger Games. The film adaptation was released in 2000, 12 years earlier than the release of the 2012 film. So now, tell me. How did the former copied the latter? Are you catching up? It's very impossible to copy anything that's haven't been released or published yet. Actually, there are lots of novels and I think films, too, that share the same plot and Battle Royale theme and stuff that's been released way back in the 80's and 90's.

I'm a fan of The Hunger Games too, really, I am. But, for me, Battle Royale is way better and more realistic than The Hunger Games although they are both fictionally created. I also read that the writer of The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins, is the one who copied the idea and she said she never heard of the book until her book was turned in. But haven't she heard of the film, too? It's pretty famous. Well, whatever, as long as their books and films are enjoyable to read and watch, those are what I care about. :)
