It Follows (2015 US Film)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

So last night, alone in my room, I've watched the film hailed as the Horror Movie of The Year (so far), It Follows, or should I call it "I'll transfer this curse to you so I can live a peaceful life but nahhhh",

Over all, I was impressed of the acting. I kind of like the story but the ending, not so much. I felt that it should not end like that. What happened to the FOLLOWer? Then I thought, I'll just wait for the sequel. I hope there is.

The film tells a story of a girl being followed by this ghost who can shape shift ever since she had sex with this lame ole guy with a fake name and fake address she met somewhere with the intention of transferring the curse to her, which is why this FOLLOWer started following her. Sounds complicated? No?

To make it more complicated, Jay, the protagonist, first transferred it to Greg, one of her friends, but he still did not believe everything she said about the FOLLOWer so he got killed instantly after it shape shifted into his mom.

She the transferred it to Paul, another friend, her first kiss, who also happened to kiss her little sister, at the end of the film. I don't know for what reason since she can still see it although it will not chase after her. SO it will chase her friend, so I guess he transferred it to some h*e and they ended up being a couple. YOU SEE? LET'S HAVE S*X.

The story is kind of interesting since the theme where you can transfer a curse thru sexual intercourse is kind of original to me. My interpretation of this film is to don't have sex if you don't the person, yet. It can prevent you on seeing ghosts! :)

Probably this film is telling us about STD.

One question in my mind is why does the FOLLOWer have to be nude and all? ;/

Go watch the film, it's worth watching!

Breathe In. Breathe Out. ( 2015 Hilary Duff Album)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

It's been so long since I've last posted. Sorry guys, got so busy with my work.

Anyways, right now, I've been busy, also, in listening to Hilary's latest Album, Breathe In. Breathe Out, which was released last June and God, the tracks make my heart dance!

Tattoo (co written by a genius named Ed Sheeran) and Rebel Hearts were the ones that got my attention so bad, I always put it on repeat!
Hilary's voice got a lil bigger but I can still hear the beauty in her voice that got my insides a lil tingly in a positive way.

Those guitar sounds plus them beats make this album perfect to hear/listen to while riding on the way to and back from work!

Picture This got those country twang, as well, while the title track Breathe In. Breathe Out, reminds me of Out of the Woods by Taylor Swift, although they may still have their differences.

One In A million and Confetti are two songs off the album that I wanna dance to. One in A, one in a, one in a... HAHA

Sparks and Night Like This (ft Kendall Schmidt) make me feel and think about dating the one I love!

See, most songs in this album gives me different types of emotions, makes me happy, kind of Sad (in a positive way?) and make me feel happy especially now that Hil is BACK!!

Go listen to the full album now, you GUYS!

STYLE MV by Taylor Swift

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Shout out to all the Swifties out there because here is the latest addition to our collection of addiction by our queen, Taylor Swift! I knew that Style would be the next Single off from her latest Album, 1989, which includes so many awesome POP songs including Blank Space, Out of the Woods, All You Had To Do Was Stay, and many many more. It's allegedly written about one of her ex flames, Harry STYLEs.

I just so love this music video so much because aside from it being a dreamy one, there's this kind of dark theme that is haunting my inner feelings and I just want to be inside this music video. The effects, the acting, the slow motion scenes, everything just fall in to place!

So here's the music video, guys! Enjoy!

P.S., Blank Space Music Video is still better than this, tho. :P

Blank Space Music Video by Yaylor Swift

Dear Entertainment Diary,

SO... Since I cannot fall asleep and it's 1:45 A.M. because of this ache in my heart (YEP Broken-hearted) , I just happened to wait and see Tay-tay's new music video, Blank Space.

Blank Space overtook All Too Well and Out of the Woods as my new favorite song of hers of all time and I've got to admit that her new music video is way out of her old self! Knives, Axe, Golf club, and mercilessly funny acting.

We can see Taylor here as we have never seen her before. Crankier and way funnier than in Shake It Off.

This is probably also my favorite Music video of her as it shows cute lil ole story about a bachelorette who is looking for the right guy for her. The story shows as it progresses that the guy doesn't love her as she expected in the first place. That he's a stupid cheater. Taylor's acting also went up as I love how she played her role very funny.

She's also pretty and just so cute. Ebough said, just watch the video below and ya'll know what I am talking about!

You can read about her latest Album here: 1989

1989 Taylor Swift (2014 Album)

The rest of the World was Black and White but we were in screaming colors.

Dear Entertainment Diary,

So finally, after 2 years of timelessly listening to her previous masterpiece, RED, Taytay released her new album (or should I say, will release her upcoming album). Of course, I won't let myself as a swiftie to be the last to hear it!

Currently, At the moment, as I am writing this blog post, I am listening to this damn new work of art of hers and loving it. She's nailing it. Although she departed from her old country pop, sweet style, Tay never failed to impress us. Everything she touches becomes Gold, or Platinum, or triple Platinum. (pun intended).

She wants to try new, wants to give and offer something new so us fans may enjoy it, and she did it.

She already released 3 singles these past few weeks (Shake It Off, Out of the Woods, and Welcome To New York), and damn, Out of the Woods is basically my favorite off this album. It's like I can clearly see/picture in my mind what she was narrating in this song.

Shake It Off was her first single off this album. Ever since I heard it, I thought, "Is this the new Taylor?"

I got the new Taylor. 1989 is her newest album, so basically, we are going to hear late 80's or early 90's music style. Them beats. I only heard her acoustic guitar in How You Get The Girl which is surprisingly FUN because of these beats covering the instrumental and humming with her naturally beautiful voice.

Bad Blood is the one I was waiting for as she said in an interview that it was about some female celebrity that she has Bad Blood with. In any case, it's a cute little song that reminds me of cheerleaders singing together. I wish that it's kind of a power ballad.

I Know Places reminds me of her BFF Lorde. It's kind of dark but I really love it! The piano instrumental is so cute to listen to. It reminds me of Glory and Gore, which is one of my fave from Lore's Album, Pure Heroine. We are the Hunters and they are the Foxes...

On Clean, I can also hear Lorde singing with Taylor. I don't know why, although it's not as dark as Lorde's sing but probably because all those voices blending with Taylor reminds me of her.

New Romantics probably is the one who brought me back in the past the most. This song reminds me of the styles of the old songs I hear as my father blasted off our radio during weekends.

I am actually waiting for songs just like "All Too Well", but by just thinking about the album title, we are not going to hear it. And I did not hear anything like it. This Love is the closest, the saddest, the most serious song in the album. And I like it.

All You Had to Do Was Stay is one hell of a heartbreaking song. If you listen to it, it's not like about a broken relationship. You can jive to it and dance all night especially if you're brokenhearted and stuff. For me, it's one of the highlights.

To sum everything all off, from Welcome to New York to New Romantics, 1989 is all about everything Taylor wants to tell us, from Places where she wants to go, from her relationship (nothing new about it), and all the stuff that's been bugging her especially about love. 1989 is the year she was born, and 80's is the era of beats and Taylor showed and let us hear every little beat we need to hear to take us back in those years. This transition of hers did not actually departed her from her country style kind of cheesy pop songs. She's still her. She still did not leave her old acoustic guitar as we can still hear it in this album.

In the end, all I want to say is there are songs that I'm going to be addicted to. Out Of The Woods is the best off this album. Taylor Swift Rocks.

Sundays at Tiffany's (2010 Movie)

The right choice isn't always the best choice.

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Hello Again. So I'm a huge fan of James Patterson, the author, who is known for his detective style novels. Though I haven't read that many of his writings. But I really love how his way of pulling of tricks of the killers or how the cops/detectives/Alex catch the crooks but there's one of his many best selling novels that caught my attention.

Sundays at Tiffany's. OK. I haven't finished the book, yet (I was reading it thru my mobile phone) and I was in the middle of reading it but I finally got tired of it and just decided tow watch the film.

I just love how the story goes where there's a girl with her imaginary friend who in the end, after leaving her for 20 years, came back for her and became her partner.

I know, in real life it can't happen, but who knows? Love has no limits. It knows no boundaries.

To tell you the truth, when I was done watching the movie, I just don't get the connection of the place, Tiffany's (I think it is an ice cream shop?), where our 2 heroes used to spend their Sundays together as children, in the movie. The place was only shown once, and it was in the start, and it was never shown ever again.

The child actress who played young Jane is so good that I fell in love with her the moment she cried while Michael was leaving her on her own in the elevator during her 10th birthday.

As I said earlier, I did not finish reading the book but I have a good guess that its ending is not as bad as the ending of the film. I mean, I liked the films ending but it did not go through my feelings that well. It's not properly executed that while I'm typing this post, all in my mind is to read and finish the book.

I love the actors who played in the movie. It's just that I still don't appreciate how they perform and give their own interpretation of the book.

The laughs, the sadness, and the touch in the heart is there. It's just that I'm not satisfied. I feel that it's lacking something. Something that Jane was looking for while picking her Bridal Dress, like when she was picking her wedding flowers, etc.

Now what I want is to finish the book, or probably want to wait another remake of the book where everything we need to know about the book, the whole story, the info, and where we can find the answers that satisfy us in all the questions that built up while watching the film.

All About You ( Hilary Duff 2014 Music Video )

Images courtesy of wikipedia.

Dear Entertainment Diary,

So it's been, I don't know, more than a month ever since I got addicted to this song? Hey baby. baby.

I'm so thrilled and excited upon hearing/reading that one of my queens is now en route to return and continue her singing career. I mean, no doubt, the girl has voice and talent, and her latest single is very catchy and cute. Very addicting to listen to and to jive in.

So here's the video where Hilary is kind of a sexy and stylish cowgirl who is in love with an unknown guy!

Hilary, welcome back. Although I kind of love her previous comeback single, Chasing the Sun, All About You has a different style where all of us can dance while singing in to. Have fun watching the music Video!

Throwback Movie: Bring It On: All or Nothing

Hey Amber!
Hey What?!
Introduce yourself!

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Hey guys! It's been a while, like, I don't know how long has it been since I last post here, and I just got really busy and stiff but I really miss doing this entertainment diary where I can share all my thoughts and all the stuff that pops in my head.

Been watching a lot of movies/animes/series lately but I want to post about the movie that I just l Re-Watched, Bring It On: All or Nothing!

I know. Old School, but this movie is soooo deliciously funny, all I did is to download it again and re-watched the movie, for like, the 10th time!

This film is not just about cheer-dancing. It's also about Friendship and Love (if you dig deeper in the story).

We all know and love Hayden Panetierre, right? Saw a lot of her movies since she was a little young-un, but this, for me, was where she stood out.

The dancing skills wasn't that good but it was all worth the watch.

The story is all about Britney Allen's life after she resigned as the Cheer Captain of her then-School, Pacific Vista, and transferred as the New White chick in a School of Ghetto, Crenshaw Heights.

Her previous cheer mates asked her to officially swear in all of them that she won't ever cheer again, but, cheering is her life. Cheering is what she loves to do and we all know that we will do anything, or everything, rather, just to do what we love!

At first, it was so hard for her to move on and blend with the new race where she is currently in, but because she is beautiful, talented, and all, she obtained the trust of the cheerleaders in her new school who saw her potential and got her in the team.

This was where the new roller coaster of her life began as she hides her feelings for a new man she loves, she hides her current cheering status in her old friends, and hides in her new cheering squad that she still wants to cheer with her old squad.

Just watch the film (if you haven't seen it, yet) and sing along with their cheers!

Pure Heroine ( 2013 Lorde Album)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

There's this new artist that is taking up on the music scene just recently who can write, sing, and make incredibly addictive music.  Her name is Lorde and I think she's one of the most talented individual out there when it comes to music.

I feel ashamed as to how I cannot update my blog these past few months due to internet loss and I regret on not having posts in here about Miley's recent album, Bangerz. I mean I waited for it but when it was released, I cannot post about it although I'm still listening to it and damn, her songs are great.

Moving on, I'm here to post about Lorde's album in which I am currently listening to. Pure Heroine is probably one of the albums that I cannot forget to listen to everyday. I just love how addicting the songs are and as I'm typing this, Glory and Gore is playing inside my HEAD!

I knew about Lorde when I heard her debut single, Royals, a song that contains simple words and simple instrumentals that includes different types of vocals/secondary voices. I'm talking about "Baby I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule, I'll rule".

The song is just genius. It was, I'm not sure at the moment if it still is, at the #1 Billboard Hot 100. The last time I checked, it spent 9 weeks on being #1. Well, it was well-deserved. The song is pretty addictive, very simple, and very nice to sing.

Then another song, Tennis Court. My favorite lines of this song were, "Baby be the class clown, and I'll be beuty queen in tears. It's a new art form showing people how little we care."
I love how she can write such words and turn it to songs to express what she really wants to say. What really are the things running through her head.

400 Lux is one of my favorite songs actually. Her voice is like mixing vulnerability and strength that when combined, it's like listening to her speaking/telling a story when she was singing. It's like she's restraining her voice to be husky but it was so powerful, she released it great. The song for me, is liking same things and not wanting change to interfere so everything will stay the same. "I like this roads where the houses won't change." "We're never done with killing time, got a lot to not do, let me kill it with you."

Ribs and Buzzcut Season were also great songs but I think Ribs overpowered Buzzcut Season just a little. It's because I fell in love with its lyrics:

You're the only friend I need (you're the only friend I need)
Sharing beds like little kids (sharing beds like little kids)
We'll laugh until our ribs get tough (we'll laugh until our ribs get tough)
But that will never be enough (but that will never be enough).

While Buzzcut Season, I think is about news. Haha.  Well she described the lyrics trying to remain "in blissful ignorance to the crumbling world trying to permeate through news broadcasts." Thanks WIKI.

Team and Glory and Gore are actually the two of the top five songs that I certainly love in the album. The other three are Royals, 400 Lux, and Tennis Court. (In order).

Team is my most favorite because of its meaning, mainly the words in its chorus. I love how she really likes living in her city, which is not that famous, but the people living there are all united and in each other's Team. I also love how she grew tired of hearing "Put your hands up in the air" in so many songs. You see what I'm talking about? She really writes what she actually wants to say, no matter how small it is, she can make it huge. Enormous. Gigantic.

She actually just released her music video of Team, in which she said was inspired by a dream she had where the world is being ruled by a guy with acne on his face, I think? That's what I remembered from what she wrote on her facebook. Correct me if I'm wrong.  :)

Glory and Gore reminds me of The Hunger Games. I think it suits to be its theme song. But, I think what I see in this song is like, how she wants to dominate the music industry, where someone's gotta go, meaning she'll replace that someone and they are gonna win. I love how she pictured death as loosing. My favorite lines were

"We gladiate but I guess we're really fighting ourselves.
Roughing up our minds so we're ready when the kill time comes"

She really knows what she's talking about.

Speaking of the Hunger Games, it's sequel Catching Fire, she also sang one of the theme songs in its album, Everybody Wants To Rule The World, which she gave her own style and rendition.

Still Sane, White Teeth Teens, and A World Alone are probably the 3 least favorite songs of mine in her album. Maybe because they're found in the last part of the album. Although I love Still Sane's lyrics. It's telling us how she cannot do her usual teenage things right now cause it's all work all day but she's telling us that she's not succumbing to the power of fame and will be still sane until the end, I think.

So that's it. That's what I think about Lorde's simple but geniusly well-witten and addictive album. I'm actually listening to it everyday and till now, I'm still hungry for more. There's the Extended Edition of her album but I haven't got a copy of it yet. So, let's support this very talented girl! I actually love how she performs live with her unique hand gestures and facial expressions but what the heck? She's still Lorde. :)

Wrecking Ball (Miley Cyrus 2013 Song)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

I'm very sorry for not updating you. I have watched so many animes (finished them already, the whole series btw, and I even caught up with Naruto Shippuden's latest episode but I'm not here to update about that)

So, Miley finally revealed the title of her upcoming and very grown up-anticipated album, #Bangerz. I think because it's all about head banging and stuff. Or the other greenish meaning "bang". HAHAHA. Just kidding.

If we all thought that We Can't Stop is a very good song from the singer-actress, well, Wrecking Ball is such a very powerful rock ballad that contains her emotions about being wrecked by someone she likes when in fact, she wanted to break the wall of the person in the first place, I guess?, and it will definitely blow you away. It also keeps me going back to or reminds me of some old Chinese songs and some 80's stuff.

This is such a very sad and emotional song coming from her when in fact, I thought all her new songs are gonna be hiphop or songs that are very upbeat. I just can't over this song especially when it's been so long since I last heard a ballad from Miley. When I Look At You is on of her best and I think this song surpassed it, in my opinion. I just hope #WreckingBall also do well in the charts.

And as I always say, her voice is so cool.Cooler than before. Even us listeners can feel her emotions while singing her feelings out in this song that's all about fighting for it until the end, fighting for the love that she wants to keep alive, but apparently, things didn't quite work out, and she looses in the end.

Base from the 2 latest songs from Miley, I think her album will gonna be an album with full of many emotions, gonna be successful, and let's take it to the top when they release it on October 8!

LYRICS:
[Verse 1]
We clawed, we chained our hearts in vain
We jumped, never asking why
We kissed, I fell under your spell
A love no one could deny

[Pre-Chorus]
Don’t you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you
I can’t live a lie, running for my life
I will always want you

[Chorus]
I came in like a wrecking ball
I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me
Yeah, you, you wreck me

[Verse 2]
I put you high up in the sky
And now, you’re not coming down
It slowly turned, you let me burn
And now, we’re ashes on the ground

[Pre-Chorus]
Don’t you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you
I can’t live a lie, running for my life
I will always want you

[Chorus]
I came in like a wrecking ball, I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me
I came in like a wrecking ball
Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung
Left me crouching in a blaze and fall
All you ever did was wreck me
Yeah, you wreck me

[Bridge]
I never meant to start a war
I just wanted you to let me in
And instead of using force
I guess I should’ve let you in
I never meant to start a war
I just wanted you to let me in
I guess I should’ve let you in

Don’t you ever say I just walked away
I will always want you

[Chorus]
I came in like a wrecking ball, I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me
I came in like a wrecking ball
Yeah, I just closed my eyes and swung
Left me crouching in a blaze and fall
All you ever did was wreck me
Yeah, you wreck me

I read that if you pre-ordered the album, you'll get "Wrecking Ball" for free!

RED MV by Taylor Swift

Dear Entertainment Diary,

I am so happy when the Music video for Tay-tay's song, Red, which also serves as her album's title, finally saw the light of day but when I saw that it was a concert video, (like Sparks Fly, and Fearless), my adrenaline just came down. It'\s just that Red is one of the songs that I like the most fro her latest album and it also one of the songs that has very deep meaning and emotions.

But when I watched it, I just felt I want to rush to Taylor's Red Tour as it is magically awesome and we can see her totally rockin' it out on the stage and giving her best. Damn, this video is great and lucky are those who already saw her perform in her Red tour! If only I can watch it. :(

We Can't Stop by Miley Cyrus (2013 Song)

Dear entertainment Diary,

Yes! Finally, my goddess, Miley Cyrus, finally let her fans hear her latest single after 3 years! Everyone knows she was very busy lending her voice to many of the songs of the many talented male singers out there including Will.I.Am and Snoop Lion. Man! I know that this song, We Can't Stop, is very far from her former pop rock songs and more adult than her previous songs in her album especially during her Disney/Hannah Montana days as she embraces a new genre, urban and a lot more R&B.

For me, the song is not a typical song to be a single but as of now, it's proving itself on the charts and I hope it'll debut this week on top! Anyways, as I said, it's not a typical song for a single but as a comeback song, it's fine. The beats are there and the voice is still kickin' and larger than her usual voice. I just don't know what to do while listening to the song; should I dance because of its beat and meaningful lyrics about life or should I cry because if the drama that is accompanying Miley's voice and dramatically played piano notes.

There is quite a stir all over the internet since the song was heard that the lyrics were pertaining about drugs but the producers already denied it and I, as well, can't see anything about it on the lyrics. I'm singing the words as Miley, not MOLLY, thank you very much.

Literally speaking, the lyrics is about doing what we want when we are in a party but as I understand it, I can see as I dug deeper that it is about life. Like no one should care about the things we are doing as long as it is right!

Go download it on iTunes people and can't wat for the music video!

Would You Rather (2012 Film)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

I really liked, not that loved, Brittany Snow ever since I saw her on John Tucker Must Die, which is the first of her films that I have seen. I'm not that much of a fan but I saw Prom Night, The Pacifier, Pitch Perfect, and the most recent, Would You Rather.

OK. So I loved this film. I don't know if it is considered as a horror film but I really loved it! The acting and the plot are superb. The actors, the twists, and most of all, I loved how it is not based from a book/novel, nor a remake, but is based from a Party Game!

I've seen films that contain crueler or many torture/pain but this stand out, for me, although it is not that gory as the Saw Series or many other torture porn scattered in the movie industry.

I love how Brittany acted as a very lovely, simple girl that will do anything for her brother. The plot revolves around her, on how low can she be when it comes to saving her brother.

The game is very simple; the host will give the players 2 options per level and as the level goes up, and the players are still playing or not yet eliminated, the options get harder and harder. The rules are simple but the things they must accomplish aren't. There also comes to a point where they need to choose who to suffer, themselves or others.

I've watched films with the same genre; survival/death game, but as I said, this one stood out because of the twists and turns and stuff. Because it also contains a story. A dramatic plot. Suspense. Thrills.

It's very worth watching.

Some questions were on my mind as I began watching the film. Will his brother survive in the end and how low can she go? Will she be able to commit crimes against her will or will she do it just to get what she thinks that will give her brother a chance to live longer? Will she find true love?

And I'm very satisfied with the answers given at the end of the film. I was actually shocked cus I did not expect such scenes, so, GOO JOB!

I encourage you all to watch the film and be amazed, thrilled, and be filled with tension and suspense because this is not the kind of torture film that we are watching nowadays, but a very silent and dark flm with superb acting, good plot, shocking scenes, annoying characters, and bittersweet ending.

Grave Encounters 2 (2012 Film)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

OK. So the other day, we watched this movie I downloaded months ago, Grave Encounters 2, which is obviously the sequel to the 2011 horror film, Grave Encounters.

I actually and unbelievably liked the first film which we watched a couple of years ago via web and damn, I was actually got scared and many scenes startled me. After watching it, I actually thought that it was based from a true story because it was so realistically made and there are no unbelievable scenes. I think most of the scenes from the first film are true as I thought they can really happen but to my dismay, Grave Encounters 2 made me feel the opposite.

The first 20-40 minutes of the film is so boring and the supernatural scenes, although almost perfectly made, are very unbelievable and unrealistic which made me hate the film. It didn't have the idea which can be found in its predecessor.

I just wish they stick the blueprints they used in the first film. Oh, and some acting are actually bad, actually.

PLOT:
Alex Wright is a film student who got obsessed to the film, Grave Encounters. He believes that the film is actually true and search for clues and evidences to prove it. He then interviewed the producer of the first film, who didn't know that he was being recorded by Alex, and admits that the whole crew that appeared in the first film gone missing and never returned. There are many unrealistic scenes in this film including the part where they are being chased by a giant ghost, the part where they are n the elevator of the hotel then suddenly got back in the hospital when the elevator door opened. The part where there is a black hole kind of thingy sucking them up The part where a person lived for 10 years just by eating rats and his body is still physically fit. And the list still goes on. Watch it if you want but I wished I passed.
