The Voice of The Philippines ( 2013 Reality Talent Search Competition)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

Happy 100th post!

So, I am a big fan of The Voice US. I love everything about that reality TV Talent search especially when it comes to the coaches/judges/mentors! Adam, Blake, Christina, and Cee Lo started it off, then the 2 in the latter were now replaced by Shakira and Usher, respectively, but I think in Season 5 they will be back.

Moving on. It's been so long ago that the Kapamilya network announced about their franchise of the show and I got excited! I got more hyped when one of my favorite blogs, Fashion PULIS, let his readers know who are the judges going to be and they are all very famous and talented whet it comes to music! They are not just what they called so-so. Let me begin with my Idol Lea Salonga ("The voice that conquered the world"), then Apl de Ap ("The voice that ruled the worldwide music chart"), Sarah G. ("The voice that captured our hearts") and Bamboooooo ("The voice that rocked our world") ! Yeah! Who wouldn't b excited?

But months ago, FP also revealed/compared the set/stage of The Voice Philippines from the other 2 more The Voice franchises here also in Asia. I think Thailand is the one and I just forgot the other one. Hongkong perhaps?

Based on what I've seen at that time, the two other franchises were more HIGH TECH compared to our country's franchise. And what more, it is a far cry from The Voice US's set/stage! Aside from its set, there were also some rumors/blind items about the show which lessen my excitement. But, Bad publicity is still publicity.

So tonight, The Voice of the Philippines finally debuted its Pilot episode and I was disappointed about the set! Really disappointed because it is one of the features that I love on The Voice US. The chairs were turning slowly. I don't know, 10 seconds before the judge can face the contestant? Just Kidding! But it was really slow.

BUT, the judges blew away my disappointment especially Lea Salonga! I love her energy! There came to a point where I think she's being OA but she's just so cute and adorable to hate! I really love her so much and we can see how she really want to be a mentor in this competition and she's aiming to be the first mentor to win. Bamboo is just mild but his words were very nice, real, and has meanings. What he said were inspiring and colorful especially the part where he said, "We'll play around" HAHAHA. Apl is genuine in his words although I didn't like his outfit but he is being real. He can relate to the contestants who come from poor families! Sarah G, is just so honest in her words! She's being real but I think she is just too polite, saying PO or OPO all the time. Ms Laida Magtalas, I mean, Mrs. Montenegro, You need to be  Rayver, I mean, BRAVER. BOLDER. FIERCER.

So to sum the pilot episode, IT'S GOOD and PROMISING. I love it but not 100%. I probably will watch more episodes of it but I hope I can still see the judges being hyper, honest, and professional!

I hope it won't be scripted just to gain attraction or won't be a charity case as what happened to some of  the reality search here in the Philippines! I hope they stay true and find the one of the Best Voices of the Philippines!

Hannibal (2013 TV Series)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

So while watching the latest season of The Voice on AXN, which doesn't include Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green as mentors/judges anymore and were replaced by Shakira and Usher, respectively, I saw the commercial of the newest drama that will premiere today, April 8, in the Philippines. And that is Hannibal.

I got intrigued as I remember the character Hannibal in the film Silence of the Lambs. I'm not sure but as  remember, Silence of the Lambs is one of the novel series and film series which feature the character Hannibal Lecter, and it is the only one that I have watched.

Moving on, this new series is a psychological thriller, crime, and police procedural kind of series and I just watched the first episode before it fully premieres on AXN tonight!

It premiered on NBC on April 4, 2013. AXN will start airing it tonight, here in the Philippines, and probably in some Asian countries, at 10 p.m.

PLOT (from wikipedia):
Will Graham (Hugh Dancy) is a criminal profiler FBI on the hunt for a serial killer. Will has a unique way of thinking which gives him the ability to empathize with the psychopaths he hunts. This ability helps him to understand them and to almost know what makes them tick. But when the mind of the twisted killer he's pursuing is too complicated for even him to understand, he enlists the help of one of the premier psychiatric doctors in the country, Dr. Hannibal Lecter (Mads Mikkelsen). Together they form a partnership to assist the FBI in hunting serial killers. But little does Will know, Hannibal's real identity has yet to be revealed.
Episode 1 started off as a very confusing one especially when the scenes shifted from one to another and when the POV shifted from the serial killer to Will's but in the end, all the pieces will all fall back to their respective places and some questions from the first acts were answered and more questions will be added to the remaining ones which obviously be answered as the series goes by.

The effects are great especially the slow motion ones where Will sees, or should i say experienced  how the killer killed the victims. I love how they show the viewers how our main character empathizes with the killer and creates his profile to track him down. Although this series contains some grossness which is not suitable for some viewers, it's still a great series to watch especially when you're into detective stuff and cannibalism. HAHAHA. That explains the subs written below the video "VIEWERS DISCRETION IS ADVISED."

Now, I'm pretty excited to watch the next episodes as the secrets of Hannibal will finally be revealed.

Cast and characters: (from wikipedia)

Hugh Dancy as Will Graham, a gifted criminal profiler and hunter of serial killers.
Mads Mikkelsen as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, a brillant forensic psychiatrist and cannibalistic serial killer.

UPDATED: Amnesia (2013 Completed Anime)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

I was so happy yesterday that I finally acquired another achievement technologically. Well, it's just that after a year or so of trying to stream using my phone (still have em ole Nokia E71), I finally, thank Heavens, did it  and now, aside from YouTube, I can technically stream anything I want (I hope so), as long as I have the download link of the said video. And guess what video I streamed yesterday? Yep. It's this Anime, Amnesia.

You probably know what Amnesia means, don't you? It's a condition where someone forgets everything about him/her or sometimes, some small parts of his/her life. There is also a tendency where he/she only forgets about a person, especially the one that's very important to him/her.

And, this anime, as the title suggests, is about a girl who just woke up on August 1 and can't remember anything that had happened in her life before that day. Names, Places, her job, families, everything. Every memory from her past is just wasted and erased.

When I streamed episode one on my phone, I actually liked it's mysteriousness. The way how the writers don't actually slip any single detail that will ruin the surprises they serve for us in the end of the series. The way how they keep the anime's atmosphere and let us feel that we were actually there to witness every single scene; romantic, funny, sad, irritating scenes, name it. The way how they let us decide on how we view every character; whether to hate or love them. The way how we say "What the hell?" while watching the  anime because we can't understand what's currently going on. And I love "these ways".

For me, episode 4 is where the series truly began. It is where the wonderful shiny light has brilliantly shine o my face and makes me realize and somehow partly understand what's really happening in the story. It is where I finally caught the some twists and loops. In short, it is where I started to love this anime MORE.

So far, I have only watched 5 episodes for I stated in its title, it's currently on-going which started broadcasting on January 7, 2013 in Japan and is set to end with 13 episodes.

This anime is very secretive. It is adapted from a visual novel playable on PSP. Remember the one of the best visual novel To The Moon?
"In Amnesia, the male characters that the female player character can interact with are based on the symbolic suit symbols from a playing card deck with the following story lines (commonly known as 'routes') in the game: Heart, Spade, Diamond, Club and Joker. Depending on which route is chosen, the player's relationship with each character is different."
--  Gameplay From wiki.
Characters:

These characters are drawn beautifully! Very artistic. (As usual for the animes). Yeah. Like the usual anime outfits and costumes, it's very weird how they are dressed but what I love the most are their eyes; The shades of the color.

Heroine - Yes.In the visual novel, she is called the heroine. In the anime, she doesn't have a name yet. She is the girl who lost her memories after waking up on August 1 and is now worrying about on what's happening in her life. For me, she is a lucky lucky, very LUCKY girl for she has so many boyfriend---- I might as well not tell. HAHA! :)

She has been seeing flashbacks or hints about her past and she's not quite sure if it's reality or not.

Shin (Heart) - Ah... Shin. He is probably the front runner on who I want the heroine to be with in the end. He is kind of a bad boy and from how much I have seen him  in the anime, he, Toma, and the heroine are childhood friends; they grew up together. In a flashback, we saw that he confessed to the heroine that he killed a guy but in episode 4, the flashback/memory was wrong when he finally told the heroine that his father was the one who killed a drunken man which mad his world upside down but Heroine and Toma didn't leave him on his own and still become his friends. He is the first shown boyfriend of Heroine and known as always stressing and wants things to happen very quickly.

Ikki (Spade) - (Icky is what I like to call him). He is the 2nd boyfriend that was introduced in the anime. He is very popular with the girls and has his own fan club. In the beginning of the series, I think that it's because of him why Heroine was kind of verbally attacked or sort of like that by the girls who have a crush on him. He only likes Heroine because she easily did not fall for him just like the other girls do. In the series, it is stated that he is best friends with Kent and he is very good in playing sports that use hands, which I think almost all of the sports available on earth. I hate him for what he said in one episode where he'll fulfill one of Heroine's wishes because he was late. He said, he prefers sexual wishes. It is also stated that he always breaks up with his girlfriends after 3 months of dating and currently unknown what the reasons are.

UPDATED: (March 5, '13)

We saw why Ikky is so popular among girls. It is because when he was young, he wished on a wishing star to be popular among girls and it came true. We now know why Ikky breaks up with her relationships every 3 months. WHY? Blame her fan club! The girls want to share him all the time so the girls all agreed to date him one by one but with conditions. The girl who is currently dating Ikky should always update what's happening everyday. (Remember the anonymous text messaged being received by Heroine every night during the time when she was dating him? Yep. That's the reason why.) And because of his girlfriends always break up with him after 3 months, he thought he could never find true love/fall in love so he decided to make her relationships only last for 3 months and date different girls only for FUN! But his view about love changed when he met Heroine and this time, he really fell in love with her. The thing is, the girls in the fan club didn't know that Heroine doesn't remember anything so they thought she broke her promise of not updating them about Ikky and taking him only for herself.  He got out of Ikky's route, this time, when the 3 b*tches bullied her and pushed her in the boat.

NOTE:

I know that he was JOKING/TESTING/KIDDING/WHATEVERING when he said about the sexual wishes thingy. But here's the thing FOR ME, I think it's rude for a guy to ask/tell her about the things like that. Serious or not, it's rude for a guy to ask a girl those kind of things. Well that's according to my point of view. It's just to clarify anything. And because of that sexual thingy is also because why I don't like him to be heroine's partner. :) We have our own opinions and I fully respect yours. Feel free to comment down here if you are against or somethng to say about this post.

Kent (Club) - The only things I know about him is that he is best friend with Ikki and that he is a very intelligent person. His nickname is Ikkyu and he likes doing math puzzles.

UPDATE: (March 5, '13)

Kent only dated our Heroine for only an episode and a lot of fans wished that it should be extended because it's kind of unfair! Yes, I think kit is but it's okay for me because Toma came in earlier than I expected. :)

Kent actually isn't the type of gentleman some girls could wish for but he is very sincerely in love with Heroine and do his best just to make her happy including approving to go to the festival with her even though he has no interest of doing so. As I remember, he works in the university and because Heroine wished to spend more time with him, he invited her and spent some quality time without talking! HAHA. Boring but fun. Huh?

He actually interacted with Orion when Heroine and Orion confessed everything about her loosing her identity and stuff and I think he fully believed in her. He communicated with Orion through Heroine and he really wanted to help her. Heroine got out of his route when they were walking and someone bumped our heroine. (I think she really is clumsy especially in this episode!)

Feel free to correct me if there are some wrong infos please.

Toma (Diamond) - He is my 2nd most fave guy in the series. Very alive, cheerful and funny. He is bestfriend with Heroine and Shin and he treats Shin as his brother.

UPDATE:  (March 5, '13)

He was the one who saved Heroine when someone bumped her and nearly fell by grabbing her hand. He is overprotective of heroine and even bought her a new phone when he knew that someone is tormenting her. We also saw in that he is taking the trashes being left in Heroine's mailbox but apparently, Heroine discovered and cleaned it up one rainy morning when she checked it up herself. As of now, he asked Heroine to live with her in the apartment especially when someone tried to knock her down with a flower vase and I think it's obvious that the girls in the fan club did it (or so I think?).

UPDATE: (MARCH 20, '13)

So, after watching episode 9, we knew that Toma is kind of very protective towards Heroine that also came to the point when he caged Heroine so she won't go out and disobey him again. For me, he kind of became a psycho because of his feelings towards Heroine. W also knew that there is a diary in Heroine's apartment
which revealed that she has feelings for Toma since they were just little kids but both of them didn't realize that they have common love/feelings for each other until when they read the diary. And remember when Toma got so jealous of Ikki whenever he and Heroine met at the alley? It is because of Heroine is confessing her love for Toma with Ikki and then Ikki was telling her what she must do, which is go and confess her feelings for Toma. In the end, they became a couple but an accident happened and Herone ended up staying in the hospital where Ukyo carried her and threw her from the roof!

Mine - She is one of the coworkers of our Heroine. It is revealed that she has a crush on Ikki when she asked Heroine if she can date him after her.

Orion - He is a spirit who helps Heroine to remember everything about her. He said that he is the reason of her amnesia when he bumped into her spirit. Only Heroine can hear and see her and whenever Heroine sees a flashback, he can see it too.

UPDATE: (MARCH 20, '13)

In the last episode, it is said that his master, Neil, was the one who kept on sending Heroine from time to time because he wanted to know more about humans but Ukyo's wish is just so hard so his power got drained out. Neil got his power back when Heroine fulfill Ukyo's wish.

Orion then brought Heroine to their world and explained everything that happened. He said that when Heroine got her memories back, she won't remember anything that happened including things about Orion.

I actually felt sad when the montages of Orion and Heroine were shown.

Ukyo (Joker) - He is a photographer with a split personality.

UPDATE: (MARCH 20, '13)

So this is the weird guy who just keeps on bumping/meeting up with Heroine in every route, and he is the last boyfriend in Heroine's life. I hope so, she s just so lucky having those boys all around her.

Ukyo was shown to have a split personality! A dark personality who wants to kill and end heroine's life for him to be alive and the light, cheerful, and caring one who wants to save Heroine from the world who wants to erase her. As of now, his real personality is still unknown and some questions are yet to be answered in the last episode. So far, we know that he s like Heroine where he already faced different deaths! It is shown that he also fell in the well which he kept on mumbling about. As of August 25th, on episode 11, h said that after he hang up on his cal to Heroine that she must not trust him anymore, but Heroine being so gullible and soft, she still cares for Ukyo and went to the University where she was chased by the Dark Ukyo and I think this is where the accident happened.

I just hope every question in our mind will be answered and we would be all satisfied as we fans waited patently every episode!!!

UPDATE: (APRIL 3, '13)

So I just watched the last episode of this anime this morning although I already have a copy of it since last week. I'm just not ready to watch and let go of it until this morning.

So the last episode tackled about Ukyo and he explained why he desperately want to kill our unnamed Heroine. Both of them, well, let's count out Orion here, run as Ukyo chased Heroine but every door is lock so Heroine can't escape as the fire is eating the whole place up. Ukyo then got a grip of her and wanted to stab Heroine using his knife. There are a lot of times he tried to kill her but the good persona of Ukyo keep on coming back and letting Heron to run but the bad persona of Ukyo kept on appearing as well.

He explained the reason why he wanted to kill her. Because both of them can't live in the same world, in a world where both of them exist so one of them must die. Ukyo confessed that he is the reason why Heroine is being sent out n different loop. He said that he already killed Heroine many times but Ukyo's good persona is too good and can't bear n his heart what he has done so he wished to Neil-sama (Orion's master and I think he is the top of all the fairies) to send him in the world where Heroine is alive but both of them are being killed and unless Ukyo's wish comes true, their time looping won't stop. Ukyo's bad persona existed because of the bad experiences (especially the killings) he felt.

As the bad Ukyo was ready to stab Heroine, good Ukyo just controlled his hand and stab it directly to his own heart. He explained some things, died for a moment, then comes alive.

OK. I know this last update is so confusing but I as well is still confused! HAHAHA! I understand what happened but I just can't explain it clearly! HAHA.

For me, he is the one who truly loves Heroine who also sacrificed his own life just to save him.

Waka - The manager at the cafe where Heroine is working. In every route Heroine lives on, his characteristic also changes.

Mundo Mo'y Akin ( 2013 Philippine TV Series)

Dear Entertainment Diary,

So I just watched the premiere episode of the newest offering from GMA Network's prmetime block, Mundo Mo'y Akin and I enjoyed every bit of it! Angelika dela Cruz and Sunshine Dizon-Tan returned in primetime to make us cry, and unexpectedly, laugh, as well!

What I like about this series is that it did not start off with the characters' childhood lives. It started very directly and has a fast pace which is good, not boring. It's Enjoyable. Entertaining. Impressive.

The opening act/scene of this series is just so entertainingly funny especially with Rodora's lines and their dance moves in the town party.

Angelika, for me, stands out in the pilot episode as I feel her character as if it's really a real person in the real world. She's just so dedicated in the role and I can feel it as she gave me shivers during the dramatic scenes. Sunshine, on the other hand, still has her talents of acting and did a good job, although Angelika almost had the most scenes in this pilot episode and steal all. I remember her Bakekang days, how she made us cry, because of their prosthetic to make them uglier than ever.

I was actually very excited about this drama ever since saw it in Facebook especially after reading that Sunshine Dizon-Tan is now finally returning in acting after her long break in showbizness, as well as the fact that she is joining a powerhouse cast including Angelika dela Cruz, Jacklyn Jose, Gabby Eigenmann, and Jolina Magdangal-Escueta. And let's not forget the return in primetime of one of the most beloved love teams today, Louise delos Reyes and Alden Richards, plus the new kapuso actress, Lauren Young.

Plot: (from wikipedia)

Childhood best friends Rodora (Angelika dela Cruz) and Perlita (Sunshine Dizon) have always suffered from the incessant taunting and ridicule for their ugly features. While Perlita accepted these criticisms gracefully and is satisfied with her life, Rodora believed that there's no future and hope for unattractive people like them.
Armed with her sheer determination, Rodora works under Donya Carmen, a rich but abusive old lady. When Donya Carmen dies of heart attack, Rodora claims all her wealth and uses it to go under the knife for a new face. She completely put her past behind her and changes her name to Giselle (Angelika dela Cruz).
Meanwhile, Perlita is willing to love any man who will accept her entirely despite her physical flaw. This leads her to trust a Fil-Am guy whom she believes loves her sincerely. But after one night, this guy dumps, and takes all her money. Left with no choice but to accept her fate, Perlita works as a maid in the mansion of the Carbonels.
By some twist of fate, the paths of former friends Perlita and Rodora cross again in the mansion. However, Giselle is now the wife of Ziggy (Gabby Eigenmann), the son of Charito(Jaclyn Jose), the matriarch of Carbonel's Barong. Unknown to Perlita, the beautiful wife of her boss is childhood best friend Rodora.
Soon after, Giselle and Perlita get pregnant at the same time. Giselle is anxious and concerned that her child will inherit her ugly features. And this situation will bring shame on Ziggy's family and will eventually reveal her true identity.
Giselle's worst fears become reality when she gives birth to an ugly baby. Her world is shattered and she knows that her relationship with Ziggy is over. Perlita, on the other hand, is surprised with her cute and beautiful baby. But after giving birth, she passed out.
Giselle learns from Aida (Jolina Magdangal), Ziggy's cousin, about Perlita's baby. Giselle conspires with Aida to switch her ugly baby with Perlita's child and in return, she will support her in the family business. Aida agrees and Giselle successfully covers up her identity and switches the two babies.
As years pass by, Perlita dutifully takes care of her daughter Marilyn (Louise delos Reyes) while Giselle raises Darlene (Lauren Young) as her own child. Marilyn and Darlene become close despite their social status. But things will turn differently when Jerome(Alden Richards), Aida's son, who has always defended Marilyn, will fall in love with Darlene. A love triangle ensues and Darlene and Marilyn are now rivals.
What I like more about this series is that there's a lesson we can learn here. That ugly people also have all the rights to live in this world. That anyone can enjoy life no matter how they look like.

As I mentioned above, I like the first episode for it is very satisfyingly enjoyable and I am hoping we can see more of this as the series go by...

The Greatest Love (2011 Korean TV Series)

"Gu Ae-Jung... You are my greatest  Love..."

Dear Entertainment Diary,

So, if you are a Filipino, you probably have heard about this Koreanovela as it is currently airing here in the Philippines on GMA Network.

Straight to the point, this is my most favorite Korean drama to date. Why? Simply because this is not just your typical RomCom series! I thought I Miss You is a great example of melodrama but how can this series make me cry for so many times? In other words, it contains different genres that a typical person would wanna watch to be satisfied in a lonely moment. Actually, I'm not satisfied. I'm very satisfied and enraging with different emotions as I watched the last episode! I'm actually sad that I finished this very quickly but I'm also happy that I have watched this series.

I said that this is my most favorite K-drama to date. Why? Because aside from what the title signifies, there are also many more greatest things included in this series. The Greatest Love, for starters. Then, the greatest couple. Greatest Song (Thump Thump/Heartbeat). The greatest friends. The greatest protector. The greatest/grandest entrance of the set of heart physicians ever. The greatest artificial heart. The greatest sidekick. The greatest manager. The greatest company director/president. The greatest everything! The list go on and it can take forever for me to mention it all.

I'm just glad that I came across with this drama and I'm hoping that I will watch another drama as grand and has a beautiful story as this. RomCom series don't actually make mecry. Yes, they can make me laugh and make "Kilig" for some of the comedic and sweet scenes but this series just made me cry for a lot of scenes! Perhaps, the acting of the cast just shot me in the heart then the bullet of emotions just went straight to my brain and commanded me to express those different types of emotions!

As I watch the series, I can't help myself but to laugh with Cha Seung-Won's acting especially when his mouth opens! This is the first drama of him that I have ever watched and I'm surprised that with a very masculine body and a very manly looking face like that can give us too much effortless comedic scenes! It's just that he's very perfect for the role! Again, his acting was very effortless!

As for Kong Hyo-Jin, this is also the very first drama of hers that I have watched and I gotta praise her as well for her acting! Her, acting as a very respectful protectors of  everyone around her suits her well. Yoo In-Na, I think I saw her on Little Black Dress along side with my Yoon Eun-Hye and I read that she also starred in Queen In-Hyun's Man which will be aired in GMA Network as well as in Secret Garden. For me, she actually didn't do many evil things, as I expected her to be the very with of the series, but still she's good at acting very much in love with Yoon Kye-Sang's character!

As I said, this drama has it all. All the most "kilig" or the sweetest moments here can make you tingle straight to the bones! It can also make you cry as if you're the one in the story for being very affected especially the time when Gu-Jin sacrificed his image for her love. It can make you dance for its very catchy thee song. You can laugh every time Dok Gu-Jin opens his mouth and do all crazy stuff for his Gu Ae-Jong. You can also fell in love with Yoon Pil-Joo for he is the most perfect man and you can be irritated with Kang Se-Ri for his selfishness but most of all, we can all sympathize with Gu Ae-Jong for her braveness and for her protecting everyone she loves. You see? What can you ask for? I actually dreamed about this drama one time because I really want to watch and finish it! But although I finished it already, I think I'll still gonna watch it as I really want this drama and also, I wanna hear the theme songs; Bakit Ngayon by Julie Anne San Jose and Dugung Dugung ( Heartbeat / Thump Thump Tagalog Version) by Rita Iringan.

Here's the plot of the drama: (From  asianwiki):
"The Greatest Love" depicts a sometimes comical, sometimes sad, sometimes sweet and sometimes maddening love square between a popular actor, a washed up former pop idol, a successful former pop idol, and a doctor of traditional Asian medicine.
10 years ago, girl group "Kukbo Sonyeo (National Treasure Girls)" was the top girl group, but 18 months later the group held a press conference announcing their breakup--for unknown reasons. Since that time, lead vocalist Ku Ae-Jung (Kong Hyo-Jin) has gone through many difficulties; she released a solo album, but it flopped. Many negative rumors also swirled around her, but again, for unknown reasons, she never discussed them or explained them in any way. This led the public to develop a very negative image of her. Her father and brother lost all the money from her brief success on a string of failed business ventures. Now 10 years later, she is known to of the public only as a D-lister, the bottom of the celebrity pile, but she still struggles to maintain her career and take care of her family by appearing on any TV or radio programs that will have her.
Meanwhile, top actor Dok Ko-Jin (Cha Seung-Won) is considered by the public as the perfect man; he is an action movie star who is sexy, yet humble--to the public. In actuality, Dok Ko-Jin is arrogant, self absorbed, and downright mean to those who know him. By chance, Dok Ko-Jin and Ku Ae-Jung cross paths at a gas station. Ku Ae-Jung seems to be recognized by a young fan and, because she is flattered, stands next to Dok Ko-Jin's decked out van while he is still sitting inside--as if it is hers. After the fan leaves, she becomes curious who might be in the van and peers into the heavily tinted windows, but is unable to see anything. Dok Ko-Jin sees her trying to peer through the window and believing she is a fan of his, grabs her arm through a partially opened window and autographs his cyrptic signature onto her palm. He then has his driver drive off without identifying himself to her.
Later on, Dok Ko-Jin and Ku Ae-Jung meet again in the lobby of a TV broadcasting company. Through a series of mishaps, Ku Ae-Jung finds herself hiding in Dok Ko-Jin's dressing room and overhears a conversation between Dok Ko-Jin and his manager where she learns that Dok Ko-Jin had his eardrum ruptured during a shooting scene and he wasn't picked for a coveted movie role, even though he bribed the director with a very expensive bottle of wine. On her way out of his dressing room, she bumps into Dok Ko-Jin and when he autographs his name on her scarf she realizes that he was the arrogant star at the gas station in the van.

Ku Ae-Jung then appears on the variety TV show "Sebakwi" and lies to the staff that she can call the famous actor Dok Ko-Jin during the show's speed quiz segment. Before she goes on, she asks Dok Ko-Jin to take her call--but he refuses. However, for some reason when the show airs he changes his mind and actually takes her phone call. Unfortunately for both, Ku Ae-Jung, caught up in the excitement and pressure of the game, accidentally reveals one of the secrets that she overheard in his dressing room--that Dok Ko-Jin tried to bribe a movie director with a bottle of wine. This leads to the beginning of their tumultuous, often hilarious relationship...
We continue to see the ups and downs of their relationship and there are several surprising things that the storywriters let happen to both characters throughout the series as their relationship continues to build and develop.
Another wonderful Hong Sisters drama, arguably the best of their career, "The Greatest Love" carries a dual meaning. The most obvious is the love Ko-Jin grows to have for Ae-Jung, but just as important and poignant is the deep, sacrificial love Ae-Jung has for the people in her life. It's Ae-Jung's willingness to sacrifice herself that lies behind why she finds it so difficult to escape her bad image and the rumors that follow her."
